Broadband offers a high-speed internet connection enabling users to access all the services the internet has to offer.
Bluebell offers a comprehensive range of broadband solutions with connectivity provided by all the major UK suppliers. We currently connect broadband services on BT, Virgin, Talk Talk, Gamma, CityFibre, and Glide. The various products we offer include ADSL, FTTC, FTTP, and dedicated Leased Lines.
We will, where possible, always recommend fibre services to our customers. The faster speeds, greater reliability, and greater bandwidth on fibre connectivity mean that your business can take advantage of new technologies or make existing ones much more efficient. We also offer a wide choice of high bandwidth, point-to-point Ethernet services designed to give you 100% uptime and enough bandwidth for all your business needs.
At Bluebell, we can instantly check any address in the UK and advise what services are currently available, as well as the estimated speeds on these services.
This is the generic name for a Digital Subscriber Line which runs over traditional copper lines. The upload and download speeds will not necessarily be the same. As the speeds received are dependent on the distance from the local exchange and the physical traffic going through said exchange. Essentially, at peak times, the speeds will fluctuate. Typically, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines speeds range from 1Mbps up to 20Mbps but will usually be towards the lower end.
Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) is fibre optic cables that run from the main telephone exchange directly into the local street cabinets. This brings the high-speed connection much closer with the final part of the connection running to the premises via standard copper lines. FTTC broadband will typically offer much faster speeds than ADSL with speeds of up to 80Mbps download and 20Mbps upload.
Fibre to the premises (FTTP broadband) provides significantly faster broadband speeds than FTTC by connecting super-fast fibre optic cables directly from the main exchange to the premises. Typically, on FTTP you can receive speeds of up to 330Mbps with it not requiring a standard telephone line to facilitate the connection. The only downside is that currently there is limited FTTP availability across the UK but where it’s available, it is surprisingly affordable offering businesses exceptional speeds at great value for money.
A leased line is a reliable dedicated fixed bandwidth connection for businesses. It offers the fastest guaranteed, uncontended (not shared with other businesses) upload and download speeds with high resilience. They’re symmetrical which means you have the same upload and download speeds. Business Leased lines can be supplied on a 100Mb or 1GB bearer meaning you can achieve speeds of up to 1GB upload and download.
Site surveys are required before deployment which can occasionally result in ECC’s (Excess Construction Charges). However, “if” any ECC’s are leveraged, an order for a leased line can be cancelled without penalty. If the company ordering a leased line does not own the premises, they must speak to the landlord as they may want some legal paperwork completing (known as a wayleave) which may incur additional charges for the customer.
